About this activity

Adventure doesn't always have to be ABOVE ground - especially when you have incredible natural wonders like Jewel Cave in the Margaret River region!

Jewel Cave is a surreal experience, because you get to experience an underground wonderland. It's actually the largest show cave in Western Australia, and it can only be described as entering a natural cathedral. Kids can marvel at creations that took millions and millions of years to create.

The stalactites and straws have to be seen to be believed stretching, suspended and hanging across the ceiling like vines and dancing cobwebs.

Sounds amazing!

On your tour, your guide will take you through three vast caverns within Jewel Cave, where you can see flowstones, shawls and stalagmites around you. You can even hear stories about how Tasmanian Tigers actually fell into the cave and perished!

One of the highlights, and most remarkable features are the "straws" - one of them has actually grown to over 5m in length! All of the features are great fun for kids who can use their imagination and see what they think the calcium sculptures look like. Waves, forest, jellyfish, candle wax...it's all there!

Jewel Cave also has two unique formations, including the "Organ Pipes" and "Frozen Waterfall". Some formations will make you feel like you're under the ocean!

Dig deep for your next family day out!
