The Yakima Valley Museum is where history comes to life through their displays that showcase the natural and cultural heritage of the region. Whether you are familiar with the region, or just passing through, you will be sure to walk away with a host of new and fascinating insights into the history of Yakima Valley. 

The museum features a wide spread of interesting exhibits that cover a range of historical themes, including a look at historic firearms, as well as a pioneer cabin that tells the story of the Mattoon family. The cabin, built in 1869, still stands today and gives a fascinating insight into life over a century ago, complete with the many artifacts relating to early life in the Yakima Valley.

Kids can also be inspired by exhibits that showcase the stories of past and present Yakimanians who have achieved significant recognition for their professional career or personal accomplishments!

Best of all the Children's Underground offers child-sized replicas of period costumes and buildings with historical roleplay and games set up. It features a more hands on set of exhibits perfect for curious kids.

It's history, culture and learning fun all rolled into one in the fascinating Yakima Valley Museum.

Vintage diner with actual soda fountain offers sodas, sundaes, and milkshakes created with Tillamook ice cream. Hot dogs, chili, soup and sandwiches are also available.
