Where are we going today?

There is something really fun about having a family day out which is all about playing and staying active!

Wonderwild in The Heights is perfect for kids of all ages - and we'll tell you why! First, those active and creative kids under 8 years have amazing playscapes to enjoy, soft play sculptures to enjoy and jumping pillows to get bouncing on!  There is even a pretty awesome crocodile slide that they can slide down on!

Then, for those bigger kids who want just as much fun - there is Wonderwild(er). This area actually takes up half of their huge play area and it's where kids aged 5 to 11 can go for gold on the activities they have on offer!

There is an amazing indoor ropes course where they can climb and have fun, and at the same time develop their coordination and balance. For those future F1 champions there is a go-kart pedal track where they can take to the wheel and see if they can get through that checkered flag first. Can you hear the roars of the crowd as you make make first place!?

Kids can scale three story playscapes, and they can climb the tallest mountains. Wonderwild is a place where kids can use their imagination as they play, so they can be whoever or wherever they want to be!

Wonderwild has open play, as well as weekends set for birthday parties where you can celebrate in style with your friends. BUT they also have some pretty cool themed events so keep an eye out on the schedule and make sure you don't miss out!

Indoor play fun, bouncy castles, rope courses...yes please!

My child loves this place and I love that she can play in a relatively safe environment where I don't have to worry about her-all for an affordable price. We had her party here and it was a huge hit-the kids in daycare are still talking about it! Win! A few notes, you can let your child have their freedom, but you are still responsible for watching them. Also, if you have your party there, don't plan on getting into the room before your party starts or having a lot of time to "set up."

There should be extra protection so the kids can't get to the main entrance so easily...also, my son got his arm and leg stuck under the floor padding after rolling down the jumping pillow....and there was no outlet cover next to the little wooden play stove on the bigger kid's side...doesn't look like they disinfect toys or the place...haven't been there since...no thanks.

My 2.5 yr old daughter loved this place before they upgraded to the new larger space but now it's so overwhelming. She still likes it but it's just more stressful now since a lot bigger kids come and end up on the "toddler" side instead of sticking to their 5-11 side. And there is no employee around to regulate who is running where, the parents of the big kids certainly don't care what their brats are doing. Also a mother lost her son the other day and the employees did NOTHING to help her at least look for her kid or stop what everyone was doing...Read More

Summary: Do not host a party here for your kids. Quality has decreased over the past year and management is not receptive to hearing about any issues that occur during the party.

Background:

This is the second party we have thrown for our kids at Wonderwild. The first party went perfectly about a year ago. No issues what so ever. Over the weekend, we had a second party for our kids expecting the same experience, but that was not the case. The most recent party was a Mega Party that allowed our kids and their friends (5 & 7) to have full access to both sides of the facility. During any of the play time, only the party having their play time is allowed in the play area.

Issues:

1. Inability to talk to someone during the day - I tried multiple times to return calls and make calls to Wonderwild about the party as we got closer. All but one time, I was forced to leave a message because no one would answer the phone.

2. Not allowing full use of play facilities - We hosted a Mega Party which allowed us to use both sides without any other parties being in the play are at the same time for 45 minutes. The staff did not know that it was a Mega Party and waited 15 minutes before opening up one of the sides to our party. The younger kids lost 1/3 of their play time.

3. Other parties allowed to play before and after their play time - Other kids were allowed to stay in the play area long after their party was over (all 45 minutes that our party was playing) and long before their party started (kids from the next party started coming in about 15 minutes after ours started playing). The staff just watched kids come out of the other party rooms and did nothing more than announce that the other kids should leave the play area.

4. Play time cut short - Play time was cut short in order to allow the next party (who had already been out there for at least 15 minutes).

5. Contractually obligated party room not available - As a part of the Mega Party, we were to have two rooms available after the party time so that we did not all have to cram into one party room. The second room was not available until long after we out of the play area. All our guests were crammed into one little room and poured into the hallway so they were not stepping on each other.

6. Outside food thrown out - We brought a fruit vegetable tray as snacks for our guests (among other food). We told the administrators to bring out the trays when the kids came in from the play area. These were not brought out at all and were forgotten about until we were driving home. We quickly called Wonderwild and told them that we would come back for the trays, but they told us they had already been thrown out, a whole 10 minutes after our party was over.

7. Management does not care - I called Wonderwild to alert them to the changes in quality of service over the past year and they seemed to not care. I asked about all of the issues that occurred and they made it seem as though they were normal occurrences and there are no plans to make any changes to fix the issues. This is a sign of poor management. If quality is going down and your customers are telling you about it, you should be receptive to the discussion and not try to quickly end the call.

Also a mother lost her son the other day and the employees did NOTHING to help her at least look for her kid or stop what everyone was doing and take stock of things. He is 3 and somehow made his way over to the top of the "big kid" ropes course. They need latches on the little gates so the kids can't easily escape over to the other side or to the front door. Yes obviously the parents should keep an eye on their kids but there were literally dozens of kids the other day, it was not fun. Also I know they don't want liability of what happens to the kids which is why you sign a waiver...but I think it would be a good idea to at least have an employee walk around every 15-30 minutes just to say "please no running, please keep an eye on this or that", since they certainly don't tell you anything when you walk in the door. I will not be going back until I know all the older kids are back in school haha!
