Where are we going today?

Animals are amazing creatures, and it's wonderful when you can give your kids a chance to have some pretty special animal encounters.

That's where Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary comes in!

This charming Massachusetts farm is a non-profit organization that rescues and care for a variety of animals from all different backgrounds. They may have been abused or neglected by previous owners, but now are in a happy home ready to welcome families just like yours!

Winslow Farm opened their doors to the public in 1997, and since then have been giving kids fun days out, where they can play and learn all about animals, including the importance of needing to look after them.

Not only does the farm give families a chance to meet and interact with the 200 animals on site, but they have a number of animal-oriented activities for all, including birthday parties (what a cool and unique party idea!), nature hikes and trails, and even pony rides!

The animals learn to trust people once more, and kids can have a unique experience - memorable and educational!

Make sure you keep an eye on the schedule across the year too! They often have fun events, such as Kids Day mid-summer where there are bounce houses, face painting and run races like the egg and spoon, and the grain bag race!

They also hold Barn Tours Saturday evenings, where you can visit the horses and goats in their homes, and even peek at the llamas and sheep as the night comes to a close!

If you're lucky you might be able to massage and walk a miniature donkey too!

Lots of animal fun at Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary!

This is one of my favorite places in the world. However, I have to correct the reviewer who said it was a petting zoo. This is nothing like a zoo and Winslow Farm's purpose is not for entertainment. Winslow Farm is a sanctuary that has taken in animals who would have died or continued to be abused otherwise. Some have escaped from slaughter or the dairy industry, or have been in some other equally abusive and neglectful environment. It is educational and a great experience for children to see what animals live like when they are left alone (aka...Read More

Love this place! The volunteers were awesome. Me and my girl got to talk to Dan, one of the volunteers there and i got to see one of the horses "Spirit" come up to him from behind as he was helping Kaitlin fix a fence and Spirit nudged him with his snout to get attention and he gave the horse a hug. They put so much time into the grounds and the care of these animals both me and my girlfriend will definitely return for more entertainment. We also gave a $10 donation on top of our entrance fees. Keep up the great job your doing as this establishment...Read More

Don't go expecting to just pet all the animals - sure, they are very very friendly and sweet but they have also been through a lot of trauma, and I don't want to see the animals there being used for just entertaining.

Keep up the great job your doing as this establishment has inspired me. Their website says it all about the care and attention of these rescued animals and i have hope that our species "Humans" are not all lost causes. Thank you again for a wonderful and beautiful visit.
