We went there for the cowboy cookout in 2008, and it just happened to be on our son’s birthday. We asked if they could help us do a cake and celebrate, and they did. Pappy sang a birthday tune so special Patrick couldn’t forget it.So when we were going back through the area in 2009, we went back again. Lower key this time but once again a really great, special experience. Jonathan, Pappy and the rest of the crew (there was a singing cowgirl, don’t remember her name) made it just fantastic for us. There’s a wagon ride, the steak fry, playing horseshoes and plenty of old west music. Pappy’s been in a bunch of movies too, I’m told, and I can see it. He’s every bit the ol’ cowboy part.
