Horrible hotel, rundown, rude employees. Much nicer hotels one exit farther that are close to food and entertainment.

I picked this because of the "hot free breakfast". Well, they routinely close it 15-30 minutes early and start putting the food away much sooner than that. In addition, the entire hotel smells of some weird incense/cleaner combo that is literally gagging. I tried to do the right thing and contacted their 800 number before posting this and their "customer care" team didn't see a problem with anything and said they would email...Read More

I've stayed at this hotel twice within the last year and am planning to stay here again when I am in Arizona next month. For the amount of money they are charging, it's a really nice hotel to stay at. It's quiet, in a safe neighborhood right off the 17 Freeway, the rooms (and the showers) are big, the bed is very comfortable, the TV is nice, the staff is friendly and the breakfast (which includes eggs, sausage, waffles, etc) is really tasty.

We stayed here for a full week and won't be returning.

Pro: Cheap, nice breakfast, big pool and the pool maintenance guy is helpful.

Con: Strong cleaner smells, dirty carpets, unfriendly staff at reception, guests carry guns to breakfast, other budget priced hotels are much better.

    Anecdotes:

Asked front desk about local churches, but they did not know. Asked if we would find information in the room guide. Answer: "I don't know I have never read it". Under churches in the guide it says "Ask at the front desk".

The printer had a sign saying...Read More

Clogged sink for 3 days, coffee pot that leaked out on my white shirt, broken hairdryer, locked out of my room constantly, locked out of the hotel (door broke), out of ice, out of laundry soap, the breakfast guy was very grumpy ( he must not like early mornings). Other then that, it was fine.

During our stay we were surrounded by the Phoenix Police department, in the parking lot, who were under the impression that we were breaking into a our truck. The police soon discovered that it was our own truck and realized it was a mistake. The fornt desk never bothered to apploigize for the error and when we tried to discuss the incident they had the police ask us to leave the hotel. Needless to say the night of the incident we left the hotel not to return the following day. We have tried to contact the manager of the hotel several times...Read More

I'd spend the extra $5 and stay one exits up the road and a nicer establishment, closer to restaurants and shops.

The printer had a sign saying it was out-of-order (noting the reviews say it was out-of-order 2 years ago). Someone had written "WTF" on the notice and we pointed out the obscenity to the front desk. Answer: "I've never been down that way."

Complained that the coffee at reception is always cold. "Well it is made at 5:00 and 10:00 every day". I said "It was cold at 11:00 yesterday" and he replied "I didn't make it at 10:00 yesterday!"

There are 3 gates into the pool area, but only one works and the others are padlocked. Similarly, 2 gates to the hot tub and one is padlocked.

Needless to say the night of the incident we left the hotel not to return the following day. We have tried to contact the manager of the hotel several times but he is never available or his front desk staff would prefer that we do not talk to him. One of the other guests told us that someone tried to break into their room early that same morning, so I guess that they may have a crime problem and that is why they were so quick to jump to the wrong conclusion. We recommend the Best Western @ Metrocenter on Northern and I-17 the staff is by far exceptional and if an event like the one we had at the Comfort Inn occured, the staff would had communicated and everyone would have understood.
