Where are we going today?

If you are in the mood to cool off a little over summer in Virginia, then you might just want to head to Waterworks Waterpark!

Here, the whole family can swim, splash and slide the day away in some pretty fun water attractions. In fact, it's one of the most popular AND fun aquatic playgrounds for the family in Northern Virginia.

WaterWorks Waterpark is actually located within Andrew Leitch Park in Dale City, and has a number of fun activities to keep the whole family entertained. There are a number of water slides that you can challenge yourself on, and the perfect way to make the biggest SPLSAH!

There are a number of water obstacles that kids can play in, and fun wading pools to have a splash about in.

The park as a fun beach area, as well as THREE jungle walks, and a splash n' play. There is even a two level children's wading pool with crayon sprays, geysers, rope climbs, and a whale slide!

The Splash N Play is perfect for those little ones before the crowd emerges, two mornings a week.

If you want some time to dry off, then head to the shaded shore lounge cabana areas, and there is even a full-service snack for all of those hungry tummies!

Is someone having a birthday? We think there might be! If that's the case, then why not have your birthday at WaterWorks Waterpark, because they LOVE to make the day super fun, and what better way to spend the day with your friends than playing in a host of water fun!

So why not cool off in Virginia with WaterWorks Waterpark - they are waiting to see how COOL you can be!

We visit this water park every summer and our kids/grandkids love it. It is not a 4 star hotel so if your from the upper crust you should probably stay home.
The slides are fun and of course the lines get longer in the middle of the day. They have tables and chairs inside to set up a "base of operations" but on the weekends you need to get there early to get one. The food is what you'd expect from a water park, nothing gourmet but will get you by if your hungry. There are many fast food places close by, We spend the whole day there and usually head...Read More

Think twice before going to this facility. The place is dirty and poorly run: We arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday. I overheard the clerks complaining about their manager. My bags were searched because,"there have been issues about people bringing in food and alcohol." I purchased a double tube because i wanted to ride with my child and there are not enough single tubes at the end of each ride so you will have to wait until someone gives one up, which takes a long time. When I went to get a tube there weren't any left so i was directed to get...Read More

Things do cost money, imagine that, so if you want extras you'll have to pay a little more. We have visited many water parks on the west coast and we love this one.

When I went to get a tube there weren't any left so i was directed to get a refund. I did. As people returned their tubes, I attempted to purchase another, I was told that,"We can't let you have one until there are ten tubes over there." We attempted to go on rides waiting up to 20 minutes just to find 2 single tubes, which are designated for each ride. The place was super crowded with long (up to 45 minutes) waits. At 4 pm I purchased a tube at the insistance of my11 year old son. This is when we finally were able to enjoy a few rides, albiet several 25-45 minute lines. While in line I was able to observe no less than 20 people with horrendous foot fungus and a huge array of interesting tattoos-some gang and prison related . We sat down for a few minutes to drink some water and put on lotion and WTF-someone stole our tube-while we were sitting 5 ft away. I reported it to the lifeguard who first told us that we would have to wait until they found it and then just gave us another one. We saw the tube and the tube thieves in line ahead of us, nothing was done. All the rides closed about 20 minutes before 6 pm which is when they are suppost to close. When I asked for my tube deposit back the manager refused to give it back because my son unwittingly removed the bracelet which they insisted he needed to keep attached in order to get our 3$ back. The food is an unhealthy array of grease, suger and high fructose corn syrup-There are several dirty picnic tables next to the parking lot to have a picnic. The bathrooms are filthy and lack privacy to change unless you use a bathroom stall. The bathrooms can only be described as gross. On this particular visit there was a weird man taking pictures all over the park of all the children with a professional camera, Who was this guy? No one was informed-permission was not sought??? Although water parks seem like a great idea, I'll never go back to this one again. A better choice in this area would be Turtle bay, Lake Shasta or your neighbor's or a hotel pool.
