Where are we going today?

If you want to make a SPLASH on your family day out, there's not reason you can't do it in style. And what better style to do it in , than at Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole with it's Old West style!

This family swimming center offers a TON of water fun, with more than an acre of flumes, slides, sprays, showers, and interactive play features perfect for the whole family. And don't miss that Old West that is recreated in the area!

Kids can head off in covered wagons, or float on rattlesnakes, and even dash through showers that are tipped from water-filled ore carts!

The main focus of Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole, is Pete's Peak. This craggy mountain is dotted with boarded up, old mine tunnels and shafts. The twin gang slides - Little Pete and Big Pete - just up from that grand mountain. It's here that those little ones will certainly get a thrill...again...and again....and again!

The main attractions at Water Mine are designed for those water lovers in elementary school, but there really is something for everyone. Tenderfoot Pond has pint-sized slides and those fun bubblers, which gives toddlers the perfect place for water play.

Teenagers have their own fun, with water volleyball, and everyone can experience the fun of floating down Rattlesnake River on a tube!

Great family fun in Virginia, where you certainly will be having a very COOL family day out!

I come here often with my son Dylan (step) and we have an absolute ball. He's in kindergarten and the rides are perfect for his age. Our favorite thing to do is ride the lazy river together in one intertube and wait for the buckets to splash on us.

It can get pretty crowded but it's worth it. You can come and go as you please all day and bring your own food and towels. They have small lockers by the lifeguard area but it's limited so on busy days they might be all taken. Every hour the pool shuts down for 10 minutes for a safety check, which I...Read More

It can get pretty crowded but it's worth it. You can come and go as you please all day and bring your own food and towels. They have small lockers by the lifeguard area but it's limited so on busy days they might be all taken. Every hour the pool shuts down for 10 minutes for a safety check, which I always use as Dylan's potty time or refreshing sunscreen. You can also wait by the big ride for the entire 10 mins so you're first in line coming out of the safety check.

The pool shuts down in 30 minute intervals for every time they hear lightening so keep that in mind if you decide to go on a cloudy/rainy day. There's also cheaper rates if you go in the later afternoon.

Overall, the park is really well maintained and I think it's the best park in Fairfax. For me, it was the best place for me to bond with the newest member of my family.
