Where are we going today?

Do you find one of the most rewarding times is when you try something over and over, then you finally achieve it?  Rock climbing is a great way to experience that.  You see the route, you try it - but you don't quite make it.  A few times later, you're at the top!  It's an extremely rewarding experience to know that you can do it.

Vertical Endeavors is one of the largest indoor rock climbing facilities in the world (that's pretty big!)  and they can accommodate all levels of experience.  For those just starting out, you will be given a full induction and explanation of how to climb properly, and how to look after your friends that are climbing (very important!)

In addition to climbing with your friends, there are a number of special events and programs for you to participate in throughout the year.  Make sure you keep checking back!

If you have mastered the indoor climbs and want to try your hand with the much more challenging outdoor climbs, then just ask!  You can join one of the 4 or 6 hour outdoor tours which get you out into nature and putting into practice all those techniques you learnt indoors!

Fancy climbing over summer?  They have fun summer camps to be a part of and really hone your skills, and parents - don’t think you have any excuse not to join too!  They hold adult climbing classes so you can try and keep up with the kids!

Rock climbing is a full body workout so it's a great way for the whole family to stay active, learn techniques of balance and concentration, and just have a lot of fun!

My Wife and I were introduced to Vertical Endeavors through a community ed course. I couldn't say enough good things about the St. Paul location. Our staff instructors were helpful and knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun and will definitely be heading back. Our class was on Wednesday nights, and I was surprised how busy it was. That said, we didn't experience any long waits. I liked the vibe and the attitude of the place. There were definitely some good climbers but nobody had a pretentious air about them.

Completely ridiculous place. Needed all kinds of waivers signed before we could even go in to a birthday party. Wasn't going to climb their silly walls, didn't care about them, but had to sign our lives away. Weren't even going going near the walls. Never go near the place again.

Really like the height of the facility. Top rope routes are only OK: Typically, they are the same move all the way up to the top, and little to no thought is put into designing the route. Bouldering routes are only OK as well. Many of the 'problems' are challenging only because they have hard reaches, not strategic weight shifts. Occasionally, they design very fun routes but they are changed very rarely (every 3 months or longer).

The staff is friendly, but they are VERY anal about getting certifications, etc. I've climbed a number of other places where they will either teach you how to top rope (for free or minimal cost), or if you need a refresher they will provide it for free. Also aggravating was the mandatory tour of the facility if you've never been there. If you are going for the first time with a friend, set aside an additional 20-30 minutes for this, especially if they are busy (which they often are).
