Where are we going today?

Families looking for an afternoon of fun or serious climbers seeking a challenge can find them both at Vertical Endeavors Duluth. Located in Adventure Zone of Canal Park in historic Canal Park, VE is the North Shore’s largest climbing facility, offering 14,000 square feet of climbing surface to make it one of the best-rounded facilities in the Midwest. Climbers can test their skills on walls up to 42 feet high on three different types of Nicros climbing walls, including A.R.T.Wall™, cracks mimicking those along the coast, and a “hand-carved” cliff with a lighthouse. Scattered throughout the facility are 30 top ropes, lead climbing, 12 Auto Belays, and a large bouldering cave.

All of these features are designed to help new climbers find their footing, families to enjoy a rainy or snowy afternoon while visiting, and veteran climbers to improve their strength, balance, endurance, and coordination without having to go far from home. A complete pro shop for gear helps keep things affordable and convenient.

To climb at VE, all you need to do is show up! We are very well set up for first-time climbers. With 12 Auto Belays (a device that takes up slack in the rope as you climb and slowly lets you down when you let go), anyone can be climbing after a short orientation. Any time we are open we are ready to welcome new climbers.

A small rock climbing gym but it has everything you need for a workout when you can't get outside. The bouldering here can kick your butt. For the first time climber there are plenty of options and even a lighthouse to climb
