I’m 36 years old in the slow-pitch softball cage. Do I really need a helmet with a facemask? Especially when they don’t really have adult sizes anyway? C’mon, guys.

I think this is the best pool in the D.C. area. It’s outdoors, it’s public so everyone can go and it costs far less than private pools, it has a six-lane lap pool, a large open pool, two big water slides, a cool “sprinkler” area and giant Adirondack chair in the kid play area, a baby pool and a snack bar. What more could anyone want? Plus there is a putt-putt golf course and a batting cage for separate fees and picnic tables in the park. If you’re not a member of a community pool and you’re reasonably close check it out.

This is a great public pool if live in Arlington. On the weekends it is best to get there early in day or late afternoon to be able to get a lounge chair; however there is a grassy area if not. Fees are $8 adults and $6.75 for kids. They have pool passes if you attend frequently to be more cost effective. They also have mini golf and batting cages.
