Things to do for Active Kids
Tuxedo Ridge Ski Area Tuxedo
Where is it at?
Tuxedo Ridge Ski Area

If you are coming from NYC, head to Rt 4 over the George Washington Bridge and head west, then Rt 17 N. Take exit 15A and continue to Rt 17. Turn left for the ski center.
Where are we going today?
Mountains and snow can be so much more fun than building snowmen (Although that is a VERY important part of wintertime!)
Tuxedo Ridge Ski Center has activities perfect for the whole family, and all experience levels.
There are classes for beginners, which even just one lesson is recommended if you haven't done it before, so you get the most out of your time on the slopes.
You can get private one on one lessons, group lessons, or even multi-week lessons for all ages - even the little ones will love the Pee Wee lessons - ideal for those kids who are potty trained up to 6. They have after school programs, and even holiday camps - both for those over 7s but perfect for all experience levels.
If you are quite the pro and want to try your hand at racing, you can take training classes for these - even as young as 6! As long as you can ride the chair lift on your own.
Oh ...did we mention snow tubing! Tubing is super easy, and super fun, and you don't have to climb back to the top like you do with sleigh riding (which it's very similar to)
Want to hear something very cool? Night skiing! Wait until most of the crowds disappear after dark and ski or board on their trails lit up with their pretty lights. That's pretty cool, and a very unique experience for even the most professional skiiers.
So budding ski bunnies get ready - it's snow time!
How much does it cost?
- AdultsGroup lessons weekdays $65 (ages 13 and over) / Weekends and holidays $80
- ChildrenGroup lessons weekdays $60 (ages 7 - 12) / Weekends and holidays $75
- Free Under: 4
When can we go?
Mon-Fri 1pm-9m; Sat, Sun, & Holidays 9am-9pm
Mid Dec to MId March for winter events; Summer Events
The resort hold "Educator Wednesdays" where teachers get $10 ski lessons and lift tickets! Also, it's a great way for kids to stay active so great for sport class. Any groups over 15 people get discounts. .
Keep up your energy levels to be able to perform your very best! The Dining Lodge has a lovely rustic feel which serves cafeteria style dining with American cuisine, and the Ridge Pub has tasty pub food to fill those rumbling tummies. Unfortunately no outside food or drink is allowed. .
There is a warming hut so you can pack your own healthy lunch and enjoy it in the toasty heat! .
Any Top Tips?
Why not bring all your friends down and have your birthday party on the slopes! They have a number of packages available for you to make your day perfect! .

We went tubing here last weekend. Friendly staf and very helpful! We had a blast and the best thing is it is not overcrowded. If you're looking for shiny, glossy, and overdone, this is not the place. But if you want to ski or snowtube in a no frills place with great staff this is the place. The manager was walking around checking the place and the customers. I was pretty happy. The only thing that needs improvement is the pub. The food wasn't great and I thought $8 for a soup that wasnt outstanding was a real ripoff.

Over Priced, Poorly clean rest rooms, Expect to spend 15 bucks for a simple burger and fries. Disgusting people go there as well. Dirty dirty dirty

I got a good deal on a night lift plus lesson plus rental ticket on Liftopia for all of $42. There were only 2 people in the class so it was nearly a private lesson. The beginner area was perfect for me. They have a decent size bunny hill so you feel like you are really skiing, not just going up a wimpy magic carpet hill. I took my first lesson at Thunder Ridge for more than twice the price. Tuxedo Ridge was more fun for me, and cheaper. I am planning to go back again soon.

My 75 year old mother, a niece and nephew (about 19-20) and I went snow tubing today and we had a ball. The place was organized, safe, well run and the guys on the slopes were amazingly helpful, friendly and kept smiling! I'd recommend this to any and everyone.
