Directions

The park is located off Hwy 87, just 10 miles north of Payson. Please note speed limits on the steep, winding mountain road prior to the park entrance.

Where are we going today?

Tucked away in a tiny valley surrounded by a forest of pine trees, Tonto Natural Bridge has been in the making for thousands of years. It is believed to be the largest natural travertine bridge in the world. The bridge stands 183 feet high over a 400-foot long tunnel that measures 150 feet at its widest point.

    Amazing. So much bigger than pictures can show and it's a pretty short hike down to the bottom. Maybe 10 minutes. That's where the real beauty is.

    My wife and I stumbled into this place almost by accident a few years ago and were amazed by the beauty of it. We've been back a number of times since and never fail to enjoy ourselves. Bring a picnic lunch and spend a few hours here. You won't regret it...

    Interesting waterfall from the plants roots not from the stream. Bridge is beautiful. Clean park.
