I visited the Nature Park on Friday, September 5, 2014. While I understand Florida has severe heat I believe the conditions that some of these animals are living in is unacceptable. There is a very small pond with two large ducks and a few turtles that is very low, full of slime and has no water flow. Also, the turtle’s shells are covered in slime. There was a Park employee riding around on a bicycle smoking a cigarette in the park right past the 4 month old monkeys which I am sure isn’t good for them. All the water areas in this facility are...Read More

I work at the Shell Factory....Yes, It's old, dusty and sometimes smelly, but it's also been around 76 years. One person said " for it size it only had one checkout" Just to let everyone know...There are 5 checkouts. Also we have a real Post Office, Rosie's Fudge & Ice Cream and a Subway . Yes some of the $ are a little high, but your not going to find a lot of this stuff in Walmart...I have been with the Shell Factory off and on for about 15 years and 2014 is the best it's ever been.
So have a open mind and come see us.....by the way I work in...Read More

We went this week with our two grandsons and had a great time. The shell factory is huge and has all of the tourist stuff you might want. The nature park was fabulous! It was really hot and humid but we still spent a few hours there. The best part is the walk in 'caged' area where there is a stream with fish and turtles, huge tortoise, several large lizards, (they are really laid back and let the kids touch them), peacocks that are not only beautiful but let out as occasional yell, lots of birds... Could hardly get the boys out of there. The restaurant...Read More

Maybe once upon a time it was great....wow, this place shows its age. Doesn't look like it updated anything except its prices in the past 40 years. We opted for the "kids package". Blew a lot of money paying for adult add-ons to do things with the kids til I finally said. Its not worth it. Pretty sure I won't be back. Bumper boats were worn out and hacked to work. Paddle boats were broken and huge dog-poop piles on the putting course.

I hate to write bad reviews but this place is just worn out. Had I known it was gonna be this way I wouldn't have...Read More

There was a Park employee riding around on a bicycle smoking a cigarette in the park right past the 4 month old monkeys which I am sure isn’t good for them. All the water areas in this facility are very thick and full with slime. Most of the animals live in a cage with dirt and hardly any grass if any. There are several large birds that are in their own cages which are too small for them to even expand their wings! It looks as though this park has gone downhill and the employees/owners do they absolute minimum when they should go above and beyond for these animals. I’m appalled and hope something is done about this.

Great day, and would definitely go back.
