The Paint Mines Interpretive Park is a great way for the family to really get out and enjoy what Colorado has to offer - and it's a LOT!

This natural wonder is filled with different landscapes and wildlife where kids can really see how beautiful the state is!

Prairie winds will blow around you as you explore the sandstone-capped spires, and look at all the different colors within the clay.

Can you hear the coyote call? You might want to listen out! It might be the only noise you hear in this quiet landscape. The Paint Mines Interpretive Park is really great for kids who love nature!

Grab those walking shoes, because there are great hikes to enjoy, where the trails will take you through the past, as you experience ancient geological formations, and even remnants of human history! Can you imagine what it would have been like to live in the Paint Mines Interpretive Park thousands of years ago?

The park is a unique ecological setting set within the rolling plains of El Paso County, and rich in wetlands, monoliths, and native grass meadows. 

The landscape is incredibly diverse, making it easy to keep drip feeding the education because it's naturally questionable in appearance! There are unique historical and archaeological elements within the park too, so it will always be a learning experience!
