About this activity

The Museum Greenwood features over 30,000 artifacts in the collections, where you can learn all about the history of South Carolina, and what an history it is! The exhibits within The Museum include the Carolina Cave exhibit, where kids can learn all about mining, gems and of course fossils, and what's cool is that the exhibit is created to look like a typical Southeastern cave system and is just filled with adventure!

Kids can re-live history in the 1900's Main Street exhibit, where you can explore the development of life and culture in upstate South Carolina, from Pre-Columbian Native American cultures right through the industrialization of the early 20th century.

Take a walk down their reconstruction of 1900s Main Street, where you can actually feel what it would have been like to live at the turn of the century, with hands-on interactive exhibits including a general store, railroad depot, and so much more!

Kids in particular will love watching short films in the cinema and trying on 1900s style hats!

The Gems and Minerals exhibit show what rocks and minerals are the foundations of the region, and the Epic Journeys exhibition focuses on the great animal migrations from all around the world! They use taxidermy pieces, and large dioramas, to help depict this incredible occurrence of the natural world!

A fascinating museum in South Carolina where there is SO much to explore, who knew this amazing state was so interesting (we did!), and now you can see for yourselves!
