About this activity

It's all about immersing yourselves in the wonderful world of art at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in Alabama! For 70 years, this Montgomery museum has been a showcase for the visual arts in Central Alabama, as well as collecting and preserving works by some of history's best known artists - as well as some of the region's best loved artists!

In fact, the museum has over 4,000 works of art in the collection, with some work dating as far back as the 18th century! So it's not just an exploration into the world of art, but also into history, and cultures too!

You'll find a collection on Self-Taught and Folk Art, as well as Regional Art of the Southwest. The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts also has one of the finest collections of works on paper of any municipal museum in the country, and even historical porcelain is featured in the collection too!

Did you know that art isn't just paintings, and at the museum you will find so much more than that!

You can see sculptures, drawings, works on paper, glass works, prints and more!

They also offer FREE docent-led tours at 1pm on the first Sunday and third Saturday of the month!

Also at the Montgomery Museum of Art, there are events that you can participate in, from yoga to talks on cultures of the world, so keep an eye out for those!

A creative and inspiring day of fun in Alabama - are you ready to explore the collections and see what might just inspire you?
