Oh I so love this place. Have been several times over the last 30 years or so and it is always fascinating, the lives of children throughout the ages. But they always manage to make it kind of new, as well. Just a wonderful experience and would highly recommend anyone who is thinking about it, especially if you have kids (but even if you do not) to stop by. Give it most of a day to do it tho--!

Very fun place. Only spent about 2 hours but could've have spent all day. Great for all three kids, 1.5, 7, 11

An amazing discovery. There is something around every corner. Love the 2 full sized trains and the whole train exhibit. Always a must to see whenever we visit. Too many activities to list them all but especially love the actual dinosaur bones that you can touch and observe staff preparing other bones. Kids can play in a flowing stream (you might want to pack dry clothes even though they provide smocks) and kids can also get great tactile stimulation in the sandbox or the music room. Don't miss the cafeteria. Good food and a great variety. Found...Read More

Pretty fun place to visit. While obviously geared towards children, me and a group of friends still had a very enjoyable time. Kind of on the expensive side though.

I was very disappointed in today's visit to the museum. I expected it to be busy with local spring breaks. I knew the high ticket prices for a mom and two children. What I did not expect was the excitement being diminished when so many things required a "ticket" and they were all sold out for the day. Why must there be tickets for the new dinosaur fossil exhibit when it is out in the open? Why must the rock climb wall need tickets? Set hours and wait. I understand the Lilly theater and perhaps the planetarium but people take the tickets just in...Read More

Found the best way to coax the kids to leave is to offer them soft serve ice cream prepared by a robot. $6 a large cup but well worth the show.

What I did not expect was the excitement being diminished when so many things required a "ticket" and they were all sold out for the day. Why must there be tickets for the new dinosaur fossil exhibit when it is out in the open? Why must the rock climb wall need tickets? Set hours and wait. I understand the Lilly theater and perhaps the planetarium but people take the tickets just in case and don't use them half the time. I was also disappointed that half of the exhibits were closed. I understand changing things to keep it fresh but at the same time it changes so frequently the memories of coming when I was a child have all but disappeared. I miss the store front and the western area. I laid for hours under the boat dock when my daughter was a toddler, but that isn't something I can share with my other daughter. Fifty dollars is too much to spend for three people to attend the museum when we arrive at 1pm and cannot see a majority of the exhibits.
