Great place to stay and ski. Mountain Villas is right at the top of the ski hill and also next to the cross country trail and they have 2 bedrooms so 2 couples can share the cost. Very nice and clean. (I see some other reviews complaining about a hotel but that's the Spirit Mountain Best Value Inn across the freeway, not even on Spirit Mt.) From Mountain Villas, we just ski down to the chalet, buy 'stay & play' discounted tickets, ski, and at the end of the day take a lift up to where we can ski or walk back to the villa. They have some long easy...Read More

We had a great summer and camped 2 times at Spirit Campground. What a nice place. We had 2 tents in a nice shady site. Very clean and well kept. Grounds keeper was very busy and still had time to stop and chat with us each day and checked in when the line was short at the coaster. That was fun too.

Campground was terrible. Couldn't find a level spot for out tents. We were respectful of the quiet time. But the grounds keeper waited until we left for the day to tell us we were being kicked out for being to loud and expected us to return and pack up. Would never recommend anyone stay at No Spirit Mountain Campground.

Spirit mountain is a fantastic place to go skiing or boarding, not to mention that amazing view (especially at night). The snow is always well maintained and the runs open up fairly fast in the beginning of the year. Like someone mentioned below me, spirit has no board or ski check system so make sure to keep an eye on your gear. Although in all honesty, common sense would tell you to never trust an unlocked piece of equipment lying around unattended.

My only complaint about spirit overall is the amount of nights where random high school and college...Read More

My husband and I had our wedding at Spirit Mountain and it was absolutely amazing! The entire process for planning our wedding was wonderful. Nancy (wedding coordinator) was extremely helpful and resonsive to our many emails, especially as it got closer to the big day. The venue is beatiful and can be dressed up so that it looks extremely elegant. The food, service and price were out of this world! The view of Duluth is amazing at sunset and you can watch the entire thing from either of their reception rooms. We would highly recommend Spirit...Read More

They have some long easy hills, some steep windy narrow hills, a really nice new lift last year in addition to all the other lifts, and the runs are much longer than any by the Twin Cities. Worth the drive!

My only complaint about spirit overall is the amount of nights where random high school and college ski teams somehow gain permission to shut down an entire run for the night without pre-warning, usually the best runs as well. While I respect ski teams, I feel they should not be able to just prance on over and ruin a night of fun for everyone else that was not aware.
