Where are we going today?

Six Flags Great Adventure is really just that - a GREAT adventure! They will give you thrills that you didn't know you could have. They will give kiddies a level of fun that they didn't know was possible. And giving families an incredible family day out? They will certainly give it their best shot!

First of all, Six Flags is known for those terrifying twists and turns on their super thrill rides, so let's start with them! They have some of the fastest, wildest and most gut-wrenching in the country (and some record breakers too!)

Stop...there seems to be something happening in Gotham City....and it's BACKWARDS! It seems the entire city has been turned upside down, and the man himself can't save them! For a limited time, the BATMAN ride will take you on a BACKWARDS journey to save Gotham! Crazy!

But wait...there's more! Bizaroo will take you on a series of lunatic loops and ridiculous rolls, and the Dare Devil Dive will plummet you 1.5 stories through the air for the ultimate skydiving experience!

El Diablo - the new spiralling coaster is now open, and ready for the record breaker? El Toro has the STEEPEST drop of any wooden coaster in the WORLD! Amazing!

With other thrill rides like Kingda Ka (0 to 128mph in 3.5 seconds) and Zumanjaro: The Drop Of Doom, you have to be brave, and we think you can!

But we did say that Six Flags Great Adventure has a host of other rides for those who want something a bit more gentle. Little ones can ride with Bugs Bunny in the sky, or on the carousel, with the sweet horses or have a high flying adventure with pilots on Air Safari.

There are tea cups to spin in, and a fun mini thrill railway with kiddie sized curves.

We didn't even start on the live entertainment yet!

Great family fun at this New Jersey attraction

I've been going to Six Flags, NJ since I was little and I've had some of the best memories there, especially with Fright Fest! I always enjoy myself and usually get a season pass, it is well worth the money for being able to go as many times as you want when it's open! It all adds up to honestly being cheaper, even if you go a few times here and there in the year. It's unfortunate to see so many bad reviews involving waiting times, experiences, etc. Unfortunately, the park cannot help how crowded it gets, especially on holidays, summertime, Halloween,...Read More

Go during the week! We went on a Saturday and it was SO busy that we were only able to get on 2 rides within 8 hours. Even when standing in line to get the Flash Pass, we were waiting an hour, just for them to tell us they are out of Platinum and only had Gold pass. We got the Gold pass, and it still was 1.5 hours before getting on the rides. Not to mention, the flash pass lines were becoming congested and were almost just as long as the regular lines. The worst part about it? 6 Flags kept closing down the rides we were waiting for, basically meaning...Read More

The rides are great but the park is too crowded! The lines are the longest thing in the world, it took us 15 minutes just to find a parking spot, the Zumanjaro line literally took an hour for us to ride on it which wasn't even worth it. We arrived at the park at 2 and we left at 8 and only rode 3 rides! Even the flash pass line was too long. The park isn't worth it and my family wasted 60 dollars each on a ticket for no reason. Don't recommend going there, unless your prepared to wait and wait. This process hurt my feet because of the waking and...Read More

Although theme parks are usually associated with children activity, The Great Adventure is way more than that. It's home to the tallest coaster in North America, Kingda-Ka and together with three other big rides, El Toro, The Drop of Doom and Nitro will get your adrenaline dose way up high. Other smaller rides are great as well, but make sure you ride on the three mentioned above. Besides those, Superman, Bizarro, Batman, Green Lantern and The Dark Night (specially The Dark Night) are amazing thrillers as well. Besides these adrenaline rush rides,...Read More

Disgustingly overcrowded!! We went yesterday with my kids, who are 5 and 7, for the first time. We went on 3 medium sized and the safari in 8 hours. The lines were ridiculous.

My kids earned this trip by doing good things and chores which took over a month to earn. My 7 year old son was crying when we left, saying it took us so long to earn this and we only went on three rides.

We drove 4 hours that day to go on 3 rides and 1 safari trip. What a shame.

It's unfortunate to see so many bad reviews involving waiting times, experiences, etc. Unfortunately, the park cannot help how crowded it gets, especially on holidays, summertime, Halloween, etc. and it does not help that there are people who do not know what they are doing and are in the wrong line, or people who bring things that are not allowed, etc. It does back things up but the park looks out for our safety, so unfortunately it happens. Mainly I recommend common sense :) Get there early, on weekdays and/or (if you can) early in the year (when it opens back up) so you can enjoy yourself and make it worth your money! Unfortunately unprofessionalism happens as well, but that happens in some shape or form anywhere you go. All you can do is make the best out of your day and plan ahead. Thanks for years of memories Six Flags can't wait for many more!

It took an hour standing in line just to get a $40 meal that consisted of funnel cake and a cheese steak. We sadly never got to even enjoy any of the fright attractions before the park closed. The make-up for the actors was pretty cool, but they all congested into one area. None of them went around the park spooking people, or entertained in the lines, or anything of the sort. They straight up just hung out in the square, walking around making growling noises.
Unless you want to get ripped off, I suggest going during the week.

Besides these adrenaline rush rides, this park is of course children friendly. Activities like Safari and special meet ups with children's favorite on screen characters should make kids happy. It's a whole day trip for this one as for many other theme parks. It worth both tine and money. Also one more probably obvious observation; go on weekdays if you can. Weekends are crowded and you will wait forever in lines for the rides.
