Sioux City Public Museum is a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of downtown that features a number of hands-on exhibits and interactive displays covering both local and regional history

Through a number of large and colorful exhibitions, interactive displays and historic structures, the museum tells the stories of the community.

You can discover the "Spirit of Sioux City" through a lively 12-minute orientation film in an ornate "corn palace theater" (you are in Iowa after all!), or uncover and discover at the "Big I Dig" - a replica of an active fossil dig site.

Alongside the museums dynamic permanent exhibits, there are a number of temporary exhibits that feature local history as told through artifacts from the collections.

With these exhibits not only can you learn even more about the people and events that shaped the regions history, but you can also ensure that you go back and see something new with every visit!
