Where are we going today?

The Settlemyre Planetarium, located at the Museum of York County, uses a sophisticated star projector and a domed ceiling to recreate the night sky at any time of the year. Using this projector and other audio and video systems we can simulate a tour of the solar system or a voyage to the stars.

This museum is very kid friendly! A very fun, interactive place to visit. Our kids loved spending 4 hours there. There is also a gift shop. We will visit again sometime! I highly recommend thus museum for kids and adults.

This isn't the largest natural history museums, but it is one of the best laid out and most interactive I've seen. It is loads of fun for children and adults. My daughter loves to pick out insect, fish, and rock samples from the many cabinets available for individual exploration. Animal pelts that children can touch are also a big hit. There is a planetarium whose showings are included with the price of admission. There's even a few young children's play areas available to round out the fun.

This museum has really been updated in the past year. There is a fabulous new Naturalist Center where we could touch over a thousand specimens and examine them up close. The kids love it. They also loved the Tinker Tim Exhibit. It was perfect for them to do hands on stuff. We all enjoy making dams and floating boats in the water table in the river gallery.
