Choo Choo....who's ready to embark on a super fun train journey!

The Saratoga and North Creek Railway is not just a passenger railway. It actually is a great way to take the family on some scenic tours and rail experiences!

The railway has vintage rail cars, where they can take the family along the Hudson River for an incredible view of the Adirondacks! There are a number of tours that you can choose across the year.

Just check the schedule and pick what will work best for you! These tours can take you back to the day when train travel was elegant and sophisticated! During winter, they even operate an historic route called the Snow Train. This route hadn't actually been used in 70 years....and now it's back and ready for families just like you! 

You can enjoy your journey in heated cars, indulge in on board dining, and experience some North Country fun!

Some of the tours are perfect for families. If Fathers Day is coming up, then check out the Fathers Day Brunch, where you can enjoy a 4 course meal as you pass all of the amazing scenery along the Hudson River. Dad might even get a surprise!

Love the fall and all of those pretty colors? Well, with the Fall Foliage Dinner Train you can enjoy a 4 course gourmet meal and take in all of those oranges and reds as you travel past!

If you have younger kids, they would love the Fall Family Fest Express, with fun family friendly activities and entertainment too!

    I'm not just a reporter, and a native NYer, i'm also a history buff. Because my face was glued to the window... fascinated by the scenery as it passed. I didn't notice the service because my eyes were glued to the windows.... taking in the view.

    It was the same scenery that flew by the preoccupied T. R. {a.k.a. Teddy Roosevelt}; he was en route to Washington, following the shooting of Pres. McKinley in Buffalo... at the western end of NY.

    Do NOT patronize this train. We went on a warm day in June, and they were negligent in allowing the train to take on passengers. They had serious Air Conditioning issues the previous day (lost ALL power after losing AC), and they had the same issues on our trip - NO AIR CONDITIONING AND NO WINDOWS TO OPEN. People were getting dehydrated, and some elderly folks looked like they were going to pass out. We paid $80 for the Dome Car, and it was a brutal and miserable ride. They did not even respond to emails from us. They clearly are only in this...Read More

    I would love to review this but this problem is we were stupid and completely forgot about the reservation we made so we called them and they wouldn't do anything to help us. I understand we were the ones at fault and forgot the trip and that is totally on us but I was really surprised that they wouldn't do anything to help us. I mean they could have easily just removed our reservation and then put us on another date. But I guess their customers aren't that important to them. There's no room for mistakes, all they care about is getting their...Read More

    The Saratoga & North Creek Railway was great. We enjoyed the views of Upstate NY via the railway. We had lunch and shopped in North Creek. My family lives in the Saratoga area but if your not from there...visit Saratoga Springs history too!
