Where are we going today?

Sarasota Jungle Gardens is one of the oldest continuously operating attractions in the State of Florida. Open to the public in December of 1940, the "Gardens" has retained its old Florida charm and very little has changed over the past sixty-eight years. A visit to the Gardens will bring back the memories of Florida days gone by. Many of the animals that you will see at Sarasota Jungle Gardens came to us through many sources. Some were rescued from adverse or inhumane conditions and some were donated by pet owners who could no longer care for their charges. Many of the rare and endangered exotic birds were given to us by various rescue organizations nationwide. Our native Florida Crocodiles, which are a "species of concern", are on loan to us from the Saint Augustine Alligator Farm and a local breeder to use for educational and conservation purposes.

The holiday lights and activities were delightful! The Santa and all the staff were incredibly friendly. Happy Zoo Year! I hope to visit again during the day when I can check out the animals.

Great low key family adventure for our 4 and 5 year old children. We enjoyed the flamingos and met some new baby goats this year.

Too bad I had to drive 171 miles to experience this place. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable, the animals well kept for.
The young lady with the parrots is willing to talk to you about any of the birds and even lets you pet them, the show is hilariously funny and been the owner of parrots and parakeets I know the headaches.
This is the only place I have visited that has the flamingos walking and fed among the visitors.
The place thanks GOD is privately own and has not been destroyed by the government

The place is SERENE and you can actually sit down on a bench and get lost in thought.
Any one who visits it will make plans to return, I know I will.
