Where are we going today?

The Santa Monica Pier is open 365 days a year and admission to marvel at it's wonders is free, with facilities charging independently.

Young kids will love the historic carousel, underneath which is the pier aquarium with extensive displays, touch tanks, plus marine themed arts and crafts activities.

Braver types can try the Trapeze School, where active families can learn a super new skill together over the top of the pier itself!

The Pacific Park amusement park has thrill and family rides across the spectrum with something for everyone. You can also enjoy the huge playland arcade with their fun, video and redemption games.

There's also plenty of independent traders, refreshments and beachside retail opportunities as well as the beach itself.

Surprised at how many people like this beach, it's extremely dirty and overcrowded. Countless beaches around are much better, crystal cove, Laguna, Santa Barbara, San Diego, etc...

One of my favorite places in L.A., which I wish I had the pleasure of being able to go every weekend as many locals do. Not as wild as Venice to the south, but still a fun time full of great views of the ocean, cool novelty shops, and the theme park of course. The ferris wheel alone is a marvel to take in in-person. You can catch many fishing off the pier and you can even hop right off and get on the sand to enjoy the beach as well. Always so much going on and great for the family.

Ive been to Santa Monica Pier plenty of times, but never on Vday and a Saturday!?
Even though it was busy full of people, parking was easy to find . We parked upstairs on the pier for $3 an hr.

The pier had always been a excellent date spot, since its so close to third street promenade, and also nothing screams romance like a walk on the beach!
Aside from all the little vendors and some pretty good musician playing their tunes, there was also spots where people would go fishing.

Lovely beach with a lot of fitness junkies working out, kids performing parkour tricks which I thought was more interesting. Loved the ocean waves, the scenery, the wave splashing against the rocks, locals, and the end of Route 66 sign on the boardwalk. I am definitely planning to come here again in the feature. I am planning a trip from the start of Route 66 in Chicago all the way back to end of Route 66 sign here in Santa Monica Pier

At the end of the night we found a perfect spot for a photo opt, the background was the light of the Ferris Wheel, in which it formed a perfect heart. Aww romantic huh!
