Where are we going today?

Toys and dolls are SO much fun to play with, and kids have been playing with them for centuries! Ever wondered how they would differ over time? Well, a trip to the San Diego Toy and Doll Museum is the place to find out!

This fun family museum loves to celebrate how important "play" is in a child's life - even the development of adults too! They love that everyone has something in common, no matter what background or age - toys!

It's true - we all enjoyed playing with toys as children. They allow children to use their imagination, create and have a great time with friends.

The museum know that there is still a kid in all of us, so they have filled their museum with toys and dolls of the past - from many countries across the globe.

It's great for kids to wander round and see all the toys from past decades and how they have changed. It's also a great way for kids to be introduced to different cultures!

The San Diego Toy and Doll Museum aren't just filled with great toys to look at. They also have events across the year which you won't want to miss out on!

Every second Saturday of the month they have a child and parent event, which fill up quickly so get your reservations in! They also hold seasonal events for certain holidays - like Christmas!

Find that inner child again at the San Diego Toy and Doll Museum....it's educational AND fun!

My two sisters and I thoroughly enjoyed the wood/fabric exhibit and the organic architecture at the same time. They encouraged me to take my brother when he came to town, which I did. He, too, liked it a lot. They are all from cities with great museums (New York, Philadelphia, Chicago/Santa Fe) but look forward to returning to the Mingei.

One of the best museums in San Diego. Dynamic in its programs and with a great collection of Asian, Latin and American crafts as well as beads, doll houses and tribal arts of the world. With Modern and Contemporary Fine Art exhibits also, this is a rich experience an art lover would enjoy. When your done exploring the museum, you will find the gift shop amazing.

Cool, but wasn't interested in seeing tons of surfboards. Everything else was awesome.

I have no interest in modern art. This place has great ceramic, wood, metal, fabric, paper, etc. creations. While in a modern theme there are traditional crafts of very talented artists.
