I went to Playland with my daughter and it was an amazing and thrilling experience. The park needs some work done to improve its overall appearance but it’s a wonderful place. We loved the rides especially the Music Express, where lights flash to loud tunes and the thrill of this ride is when it goes forward and backwards. Another ride that we enjoyed was the Starship 2000, in this ride while standing inside a rotating platform, the floors move up and down, but you remain stuck on the wall from the force. Other thrilling rides we loved was the Log Flume and The Whip. There’s also the Kiddyland with a great selection of rides for the children, like the Crazy Submarine and the Kiddie Coaster. The restrooms are relatively clean and they are located in selected areas. If you’re in for some food, you can enjoy from pizza, to the delicious Funnel Cake, to hot dogs. Many well known restaurants are housed here, like Nathan’s, Popeye’s and Burger King. You will find food stations that sell water, slushies, soda and cotton candy. My daughter and I loved renting a paddle boat for just $15 dollars for an hour. ($20 deposit, you must have an ID, when you return the equipment, you get back $5.00 dollars) I found the park clean, safe and pleasant. I was told that Playland hired only “teens” and that they were rude. I must say that all the “teens” that I came in contact with treated us with the most amazing friendliness, courteous, respect and professional stance. They all seemed extremely well skilled at their positions and that made me feel safe to enjoy the rides as well as to enjoy the park. If you’re visiting by public transportation make sure you visit Playland’s official site and familiarize with bus and train schedules. And also you may find all information pertaining to hours of operation, special events, rides and attractions, parking regulations, directions and admission charges. Playland is a family place, I recommend you visit and enjoy.

Love coming to the beach but hate the mixed up lines to pay. They should develop a more efficient method of paying for your tickets.

I use to love playland this park use to mean everything to me. But what gets me mad is that unlike six flags and Disney and other great parks this park makes no room for heavy set people I went there and I could not get on any rides because I couldn’t fit. I know being heavy is my fault but come on u should still make so room and comfort for people like me if u are tall and heavy please don’t waste your money on this park because u won’t be able to ride any of the rides

This venue should not be in Rye. It is a noisy, mess. The beech is terrible. It should be returned to a marshland.

Sure, maybe some of the staff aren’t the most enthusiastic. And, perhaps the park could use some cleaning up. But when you get down to it, Playland is a great place to spend a summer afternoon for a fair price and have a lot of fun. There are plenty of rides for both kids (Jr. Whip, Kiddie Coaster, etc.) and moderate thrill seekers (Skyflyer, Double Shot, etc.). The two water attractions are a blast and helpful under the hot summer sun. The park is best at night when the firework display happens, twice a week at 9 or so. I know some have safety concerns, but the injuries that have occurred seem to be caused by patrons not following the rules, rather than real negligence on the part of the employees. Also, though some complain about the “unsavory” clientele, I have never had a problem with anyone there or felt endangered by them (I think it might be Westchester snootiness that causes most of the gripes.) I would feel comfortable leaving kids 12+ alone, during the daytime. On pricing: it can seem expensive, but if you buy a season pass, it will pay for itself after just three or four visits. That said, dining inside the park can definitely become overpriced. I am looking forward to another fun year at Playland this summer, providing it’s still open!
