Where are we going today?

If you just LOVE water, and find yourself disappointed when summer is over, what you need is an INDOOR swimming adventure. Welcome to Ray's Splash Planet!

This North Carolina water park is perfect for not only the whole family, but perfect for all kinds of weather too. The main feature of Ray's Splash Planet is the one of a kind waterpark.

This indoor park has 117,000 gallons of water to be enjoyed - so you can certainly make a SPLASH! Those over 48" can challenge themselves on the Blue Comet - a very cool 3 story giant slide that is shaped like an 8 - so imagine the turns you will be going down!

If you want to watch those enjoying that thrilling slide, then you might want to try the Orbiter, where you can just relax on your tube and enjoy the shrieks of fun.

Saturation Station is another popular attraction within Ray's Splash Planet. This features four slides, as well as interactive water features AND (kids just beware)...a tumble bucket!

The Vortex will take you around and around on that quick current, and those Meteor Showers will certainly make a splash with their brightly colored buckets that just fill with water...and then spill all over you!

With water squirters, beach like entry pools and lap lanes for those serious swimmers, there is certainly plenty of water fun to be had at Rays!

Rays Splash Planet also has birthday party rooms, a fitness center, basketball, greenway, and snacks! What better way to spend summer AND winter.

I took my 15 month old on a Thursday morning. When we first got there, it was not too busy. After about 45 minutes it really picked up. I don't think this is a great place for little little ones. There is no separate area for them to play without risking getting trampled on by the bigger kids. Cleanliness: Not very...waterbugs floating in the drains and just an overall feeling of dirty. This was just my first time going but I know I will not return. Paid $16 dollars for me and my little one and we were there for about 45 minutes. I could have...Read More

Worst customer service Jackie. This review is for her and not the place as I don't plan to use it although it looked like fun for kids. Went there to get info on hosting birthday party for my 3 year old. Jackie was on the phone so I was waiting 10 feet away showing my kid the slides, when she says "can you keep quite I am on the phone". My kids are no angels but we were actually having a quite conversation. Once she hangs up she kept typing on the computer. I went to ask her if she was Jackie and if I needed to speak to her about hiring the place,...Read More

We went there for a birthday party today. My four year old daughter had fun, the party rooms are very nice but when we were leaving a woman had her two boys, who look to be about 5 and 8 years old in the women's locker room, even though there is a family locker room. We had to find a corner to change where they couldn't see us and someone had decided to leave two dirty diapers on the bench. Pretty disgusting. Also my eyes and throat feel a little irritated from all the chemicals and I didn't even swim.

My friend threw her 6yr old daughter a birthday party at Ray's Splash Planet in February, 2014. The party staff were friendly- the room was ample and for a government run facility all in all the place is decent. There are family changing rooms which is great for a mother-son/father-daughter duo- but only one shower so there could be a huge wait time if the place were busy.
Wasn't the cleanest place ever, and wow - did those lifeguards love their whistles. There weren't a lot of rules explained upon entry so I guess the majority of guests figure...Read More

We had our first visit today! It was not very crowded, we stayed for about 3 hours. I think if you went for about 2 to 2 1/2 that would be the perfect length of time to stay when it's not very busy. There was only one family in front of us checking in and it took a little longer than I would have expected for one family to pay. So I agree with other reviews that it may take a while to just get checked in. Locker / bathroom areas were very clean. Waterpark area was clean. Yes, there were brown stains, but show me a waterpark / pool that does...Read More

I could have taken him to the new Romare Bearden Park in uptown for free and less trouble (and probably less bugs).

I went to ask her if she was Jackie and if I needed to speak to her about hiring the place, and then she goes,"I am typing now, wait". I am already po`d and ready to walk out while my wife makes me to wait. When my wife finally went to talk to her, I was staying with my kid and letting him climb on the table away so not to bother them. She then goes, "don't climb there, we eat there and there is no one to clean it". I would have expected a response of "don't climb, he would fall.". But, for a place that services for kids to be rude to kids is unacceptable. Why would I spend my money there to have party, when they lack basic etiquette and if no-one to clean. I didn't want to waste my time anymore, so immediately left.

Wasn't the cleanest place ever, and wow - did those lifeguards love their whistles. There weren't a lot of rules explained upon entry so I guess the majority of guests figure things out by trial and error- which would be OK if the lifeguards on staff were not as rude about it.
My friend was harshly reprimanded for going down the slide without seeing the thumbs up from the lifeguard below- there is no sign at the top that instructs guests to wait...All in all I ended up nervous from the constant whistle blowing and people being yelled at. I spent much of my time there trying to decide if it was a concentration camp or a recreational facility.
If the staff were instructed to be respectful to people that ultimately pay their salary (either by taxes to maintain the place or entry fees to run it) it could be a great place to recommend. For now: NO.

Lifeguards seemed alert and stayed on task, but YOU still need to watch your own children. Snack bar had great prices for water / juice. Be sure to bring your swim goggles (my kids had very red eyes when we were done). Overall I think it's a great place for cold and rainy winter days. We'll be back soon.
