The place in general is very well kept, many interesting animals and the aquarium staff person was knowledgeable about the fish in the main tank. The reason for a low score was the cramped spaces, especially the tiny octopus tank holding an intelligent animal which is far too restrictive.

I just went here today and I must say, I absolutely love this place. I will definitely come again, many times I am sure. I took plenty of awesome photos and videos. The place is chalk-full of photo ops. It is especially beautiful as it is in the summer here and the sun creates great lighting for the scenery. It will definitely still be beautiful in the rain, just a different experience entirely! I want to encounter the supposed ghost here. That would be exciting! I highly recommend a trip here.

The zoo and aquarium have a nice selection of animals and marine life. It's laid out rather well for a nice leisurely stroll through the grounds. They offer a variety of foods to enjoy while there, something for everyone. They also rotate animals on occasion so it's not always the same experience. The area around the zoo is worth checking out as well. Point Defiance has some spectacular views and plenty of beach area to enjoy. It's fun to hike and explore the area with its many trails. The are also many barbecue/picnic areas and a kayak rental area...Read More

I grew up not too far from Brookfield Zoo in Chicago, and I went in knowing this was a smaller zoo. I was a little underwhelmed with the aquarium until we got to the shark exhibit. That was pretty cool.

I wish the habitats were bigger for the animals, as they all seem quite small, but the only way to get those is for the zoo to get more funding, and with the Seattle zoo not too far away, I'm not sure what the chances of that happening are.

The only thing we didn't get to see were the polar bears because the glass for their habitat was being replaced....Read More

The only thing we didn't get to see were the polar bears because the glass for their habitat was being replaced. I did love, however, that they don't charge additional fees to any of the exhibits like they do in the larger zoos.

The staff is really nice, though all of the concessions except for the cafe were shut down (it was November). The entire grounds were kept clean, and it doesn't smell like poop, even by the elephants. :)

We plan to go again closer to Christmas when they have the entire zoo lit up at night.
