About this activity

Don't be confused by the names of these castles - they aren't edible!

Piatt Castles comprise of Mac-A-Cheek and Mac-O-Chee, which are two beautiful historical castles that will take you on a journey with artefacts, photographs, and exhibits through your old self-guided tours!

For over 100 years people have been visiting these castles to learn about the land and people of Ohio.  100 years!  That's a whole century!

These castles are family built and owned - for over 5 generations!  The house is so special to this family - they even owned a sawmill which eventually made the pieces for these stunning structures!

For those interested in architecture, or art - they have beautiful structures, details, and frescoes to admire and learn about.

If you want a really unique camp experience, the castles run a Civil War Living History Camp where you can take on the role of a soldier or family members during the very famous American Civil War.  You adventure will take you back to the past through simulations, hands-on activities and games!

If drama is more your thing, you can enjoy a creative camp with drama, sets and puppetry! Create, perform, and personalize sock and shadow puppets, and learn how to use marionettes - and put on a special performance for your family on the last day!

Throughout summer they occasionally host fun events perfect for the whole family, and for those very brave souls you can join in on their ghosts and goblins night!

Some of these events are held at the Mac-O-Chee castle, and some at the Mac-A-Cheek - they are only down the road from each other and both worth visiting.  Check the location before you head out there!
