It is a very nice park, but we had a bad experience here. We set up our gear in an empty campsite. One of our tent poles broke in the process, so we left our tent staked to the ground, and all of our gear in the site.

After returning from the store with some duct tape, we found a huge RV parked in the site. We informed the guy that we were here first, our gear was here, or tent was staked down next to the pad. He basically told us that he wasn't moving, and we couldn't make him.

So my wife went to get a park ranger. This ranger told us that...Read More

Been there plenty times to fish. But never caught not the first one. Always lost too many hooks and sinkers on snags.

Nice tucked away on the edge of a national forest. Good swimming, and camping, and fishing, and not to mention a very nice & polite staff who are always willing to help. Very peaceful and quiet, but still close enough to town to be able to get the things that you want or need.

Beautiful lake with good fishing and nice beach areas for swimming. We have camped here for many years and it just gets better !

This ranger told us that since our tent wasn't "fully erect", we didn't occupy the site. And since they don't collect fees until the evening, it was technically a first come, first serve site. Even though it was totally obvious that someone was there before this butthole RV'er, they sided with him. And since there were no other electric/water sites left, we were told to move to the primitive area.

To us, this seemed like preferential treatment to a guy in an expensive RV over some young married couple in a tent...which is strange since we pay the exact same amount for the same site.

We ended up just driving all the way back home without camping that weekend. Thanks to a jerk RVer, and a ranger who didn't give a crap, we will never visit this state park again. I'm sure missing out on our business won't break their budget, but if you treat all of your visitors this way, your park will become a very unfriendly place.
