We all know that it's so important for kids to learn and develop as they grow, but no-one said it didn't have to be fun!
Orpheum Children's Science Museum is a great place for kids to experiment, play, touch and get creative - all whilst learning! (They just won't realize it!)
Through a number of really fun and imaginative exhibits, kids can make their way around the museum immersing themselves in a number of activities - all of which will stimulate and develop their senses, and mind.
A castle in a museum? At the Orpheum Children's Science Museum there is! Kids can take a step back in time into a fascinating medieval world of queens, kings, and knights. Here they can get their minds working whilst playing with machines and building structures (all safe of course!). What kind of things will they be able to achieve!?
Toot Toot! It's time to make your way down the Mississippi River on the Sackermann Tugboat. Don those safety vests and explore the engine room, cabin and observation deck. Don't forget to put on that imaginary captains hat!
Woof! Well, that must be the puppies in the Animal Clinic! This exhibit focuses on teaching kids proper care of animals, and the compassion and respect they need to have towards all living creatures. All about the happy animals here!
Critter Corner is always a favorite, with tarantulas, turtles, snakes, and even roaches that call the Orpheum Children's Science Museum home!
Kids can learn the science behind their favorite amusement parks, play with bubbles and even learn what effect moving air has on objects.
It's a great interactive museum which will keep kids VERY entertained!
The museum is located in northern downtown Champaign. There is metered parking available in front of the museum entrance.

There are plenty of restaurants and places to eat within walking distance, and there is a park 4 blocks away with picnic areas and playgrounds - so really make a day of it! Take some lunch or grab a bite!
The museum occasionally hold fun events (especially seasonal ones!) so check the calendar regularly so you don't miss out!
The museum is a great place for field trips - and they also offer camps. Field trips can be schedules weekdays from 9am - 4pm, and last 90 minutes. They can also come to your school!
