About this activity

The New Mexico Museum of Space History is where you can have an out of this world family day out with the whole family!

This fascinating museum is filled with indoor and outdoor exhibits, that will excite, educate, and inspire kids. You never know - maybe a rocket that they design, or they pilot, will be on display in the future!

This Museum of Space History is where kids can see the real Sonic Wind I rocket sled that tested the Apollo Launch Escape System.

You can also see the LARGEST rocket every launched from the state of New Mexico - the Little Joe II

Did you know that New Mexico had such a strong space history? So much so that there is an entire exhibit that showcases the exploration and knowledge of space that has occurred here.

Have you ever wanted to be face to face with a real moon rock? You can at the New Mexico Museum of Space history! You can also see rare replicas of man made satellites, and even an early guided missile.

Kids can find out all about what it's like to life and work in space, and even really get under the skin of the science behind it all - that makes it a fascinating day out, AND a really great place that kids can learn as they walk around!

Kids may also explore the International Space Hall of Fame, theatre and planetarium with varied programming, plus explore the Memorial Gardens.

With a planetarium and movie theatre too - are you ready to boldly go where, well, many families have gone before! We are!
