Loads of hands on things to keep the kids occupied naval artifacts, model ships, undersea vehicles, sub periscopes, a space capsule, a decommissioned destroyer - feel tired just reading it!! Please note that non-military visitors must call 24 hours in advance to make a reservation.

    I attended the Coffee and Tea Festival here on Sunday, 6/5 on the Marine Parade Ground. But I am most proud of the long shipbuilding history, which dates back to 1876, when the Federal Street shipyard was closed. Between 1914 and 1970 alone 97 battleships, minesweepers, destroyers, and other warsips were built here.     Was stationed here in the early 70's this base was busy and lots of ships from Aircraft Carriers down to Navy tugs could be seen coming and leaving on the Delaware

    Beautiful location. Been to a few beer festivals here and the location is always a good fit.
