Where are we going today?

Art is an amazing part of our culture - it can inspire us in so many ways! It's also pretty fun to look at, which is why the Museum of Contemporary Art in Detroit is a great place for families to visit!

The Museum of Contemporary Art always has fascinating exhibitions that are waiting to be enjoyed. Each exhibition is on for a few months, so it always ensures that there is something new for you to see on your next visit!

The content of the exhibitions can vary. They can cover photograph, with portraits of great figures in our history. They could be exhibitions which showcase specific artists and their work. Of course, art isn't just paintings. Art can be in all forms (that's why it's so exciting!) - whether it's paint, sculptures, glass, ceramics...and even video!

Seeing all the different types of art is great to show kids that art can be whatever they want it to be!

And you know what else is great about the Museum of Contemporary Art? They don't just have exhibitions for you to enjoy - they have events too! Across the year, they host artistic, literary and musical events which are all free as well (with suggested donation) but they are often family friendly!

Examples of the events are a teen night for Cinco de Mayo, and teen art workshops which enhance their artistic skills thanks to the help of their special guests!

The museum is an innovative addition to Detroit's Cultural Center. They always have ambitious programs, readings, and activities just for kids. Don't forget about those family days too!

It's art fun all around in Detroit at the Museum of Contemporary Art - let's get creative and inspired!

Every show I have went to here seemed to have a pretentious feel,; was expecting this place to be more gritty like the old underground gallleries that have been swept under the carpet for this gentrification station.

Waste of time - not a real Art Museum - went and art consisted of a pile of candy on the floor and tube TV's in Ikea furniture and plastic green house with a rain collection tube. If you want to see good art go to the DIA, an elementary school art class could rival what is on display here.
