We went over the 4 of July just to get out of the low land heat, we were blessed with cold front that made it feel like early fall. It was very nice because it was cool it was clear and you could see forever. The food at the lodge was good, but the greens like salad had been sitting around a while so bring your own if you want that fresh. I imagine that they don’t get deliveries out there that often because its as long drive from any one of the major cities. The breakfast was good too. We stayed at the lodge and it was wonderful, the staff was wonderful, and accommodating and the room was clean you can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. If you like a good view this is one of the highest in the Ozarks it’s worth the stop to stay a day or two if you enjoy vistas. Over all it was 5 star hope to visit again.

Had a terrific time! We had both, a room at the lodge and a cabin. Both were clean and very nice. The cabin kitchen was completely stocked with all the gear needed. The views were awesome. We were there for the 4th of July, a Wednesday – Sunday and we were never crowded with other visitors, rarely encountered others on the hiking trails even though the parking lots were full. We biked, hiked, drove off road, took a great ATV tour with Schultermans, visited Cove Lake for a day of Kayaking and swimming. Really couldn’t have asked for a better outdoor vacation. Highly recommend the park and amenities. Great value on top of the fun.

The view on Mt. Magazine sucks today. Clouds clouds clouds. Wanna punch them in their cloudy cloud faces. I can’t even see my house from here.
