About this activity

Motown Records changed music as we know it, and since it was established in 1959, some of the greatest songs that we know were created!

The Motown Historical Museum lets parents spend a trip down memory lane, and remember those iconic moments in their lives that happened to Motown songs, and it allows the next generation of family to be introduced to sounds so wonderful.

The Motown Historical Museum is one of the areas most popular attractions, and when you visit you will see why! People come from all around the globe to stand in Studio A, which is where those iconic artists recorded all of that music you love.

The museum will take you through history with an extensive collection of Motown artifacts, memorabilia, and photographs.

Studio A was unlike any other. It was where artists such as the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and the Jackson 5 recorded. The Motown Historical Museum is true to the artists, and gives the family an authentic experience.

You can even visit the flat of Berry Gordy - the man responsible for founding the Motown label. He bought the two family flat, and then transformed the first floor into Hitsville USA.

The museum is a great way to introduce children to a new type of music. You never know - maybe they will be inspired to become a singer, or a musician! You might have a little Diana Ross or Stevie Wonder in the family!
