First zoo I’ve been to like this. I’m used to huge, touristy zoos with lots of sidewalks and animals. This is not that type of zoo. There’s almost no pavement, and no tourists. It’s like someone just took their acreage and fenced it off to make animal cages. There’s bears, tigers, a chimp, deer, other stuff.. You can feed just about all the animals peanuts that they sell. It’s nice and peaceful and peacocks run around loose. I’d go back.

I work at the Mobile zoo and I would like to set a few things straight. ALL of the animals have water and are checked every single day. They have an on demand dripper system that is kind of like the end of a water bottle you put into a rabbits cage only it is connected to the main water line. They also have bowls and pools that are filled daily in the hot weather. We spray them at least once a day in the heat to cool them off and to play. The problem with our address is with the phone company or the gps services, we are located on ward rd but if you put the Mobile Zoo into your gps device it takes you to the road behind the zoo. We do not know why nor do we know how to correct it. As far as calling and not getting an answer when this review was written only two people worked there. 2 people for take care of acres of land and over 200 animals. Now we have three people but as you know that is not enough! We can’t afford to hire anyone else because we are a certified non-profit. The ONLY money we get is admission and the sale of things like souvenirs and peanuts. ALL of our animals are kept in pens up to code and kept clean. We are regularly inspected by the USDA just like any other zoo. And since psychological research is done here (it is like games for the monkeys and you can come and watch them do it) we are also inspected by the research community. If you want to make this zoo better come here and donate your time or your money. We need your help to help these animals. We house several species of endangered animals like tigers, leopards, and primates. You can get as close as four feet away from a tiger at our zoo! We have not had any escapes or injures (caused by animals or equipment) in the entire time we have been open. See for yourself how we run our zoo before you believe 2 bad reviews on google.

Have been there twice Both times had a great time. Great people work there and were very good with my kids. What my kids love so much is that they can feed the animals. The price is very good for the zoo. And my only thing is I would only go in the spring, fall, or winter cause the summer is so HOT.

Some of my family and I recently visited the Mobile Zoo. We Loved It!!!! We are already planning cook outs there in the spring (2013). The variety of large cats and the four bears….goodness, gracious! We had a wonderful time exploring, feeding the animals, and just enjoying nature. The peeps were GREAT!
