Where are we going today?

We have all seen those iconic photographs from the 1950s of the drive-in movie theater, with families having a great time together. Why can't it be like that again you say? Well...it can!

Welcome to the Midway Drive-In Theater!

The Midway is a very beautiful drive-in, where the whole family can have those classic movie experiences, right from the comfort of your very own car!

Opening in Sterling in 1950, you really do get that retro experience, because it's authentic! The ticket booth has that retro "spaceship" quality to it, and there is a super fun playground for those little ones so they can play before, or after the film!

With a full concession stand, and history everywhere, you really will have gone back in time to the 1950s at the Midway Drive-In Theater!

There is space for over 500 cars at the theater, so the atmosphere is always buzzing, and plenty of room for all. The screen is a HUGE 90 feet across, so you don't have to worry about not being able to see! You will always have a giant film experience.

After dusk, the magic happens! The stars come out (on and off the screen!), so don't forget to look up at the sky and try and spot those famous constellations, such as the Big Dipper.

The films shown are predominately kid or family friendly ones, so you will have plenty of choice for your family day - or night - out!

Lights....camera....action! Your movie experience at the Midway Drive-In is about to begin!

Seasonal. Opens spring.

I'm Hungry!

They have everything you would want from a movie snack bar! They of course have popcorn, and a range of drinks, as well as candy,, burgers, and pizza....and of course hot dogs! Let's all go to the lobby!.

Healthy Eating!

They use zero trans fat oils for frying, and coconut oil for the popcorn!.

Any Top Tips?

Kids under 12 years can use the playground, but it's shut during the film and the intermission.

Doing our bit

They have kept the magic of the movies alive, and even though they have kept the retro theater, they have digital projection and sound to give you that modern touch..

Need a little extra help?

You are in your own car, so if you are okay in your own vehicle, you will be fine!.

More information

They open rain or shine.

I love the Drive-in, I go there about every weekend in the summer. Every penny you spend there is worth it, and watching movies like that is 1000 times better than at a movie theater. This is an awesome place and I think that everyone who enjoys nice people, great movies, and delicious food should go there.

Great place to go for hours of inexpensive movie entertainment You can't beat the experience! It's not just "going to the movies". It's the whole package.... being able to sit outside (bug and weather dependent), eat food of all sorts DURING the movie, pay only one Low Price ($7.oo) per person for ALL 2 or 3 movies shown that night, being able smoke (if you so choose).

I would actually pay $10 instead of the $7 .. so the actual Drive-In could make some profit... instead of 80% of the $7 going to the movie companies! That's awful. No wonder...Read More

The only downside is, they need MORE bathrooms!! Especially for the Ladies !!
