As a family of beginning skiers, it's not such a bad place. The kids enjoyed the tubing and beginner ski areas. As for instruction, I can only comment on what I observed, since none of us took any lessons, we just sorta figured it out on our own. The lessons during the day appears to be given by adults and they seemed very encouraging and patient. They also have a time during the late afternoon, where they set up stations where you "graduate" from one to the next as you learn certain skills. Great place for families with young children. Our kids started skiing/snow boarding there last year. We love it there. The instructors are great and it's a convenient and family friendly place to ski. The lodge has free WiFi and the cafeteria prices are fairly reasonable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We love the fact that it is so close to our house (we live in a suburb of Manchester) and convenient to get to. Also, it's not too crowded so we can ski a lot.

The instruction given at each station is done by young kids that seemed to be more there to socialize and block the conveyor belts that bring you up the slope...while you try to maneuver around them as they stare at you.

I don't mind that the instructors are kids...just find ones that actually want to be there.

The runs are easy and not too long, but they are great for the beginning skier or for someone who just enjoys shooshing down at a leisurely pace. My 6 year old loves skiing there and his siblings (who are learning to snow board) love it too. After taking lessons there last year he is able to ride the chair lift to the top of the mountain and ski safely down any of the trails by himself. He and his siblings are taking group lessons again there this winter.

We also did the tubing there a couple of times and that was fun.
