About this activity

Did you know that when the Maui Ocean Center opened in 1998, it was the LARGEST tropical aquarium in the entire western hemisphere? That's pretty impressive!

Since then, Maui Ocean Center has given millions of family's an underwater experience, taking them under the beautiful Hawaiian waters. And now it could be your turn!

This Hawaiian Aquarium replicates the natural ocean ecosystem, where you will encounter only the animals that you can find around the waters of these beautiful islands.

Many of these aren't found anywhere else in the world - now that's special!

The Maui Ocean Center has one of the largest live corals in the entire nation, and over 60 exhibits that can teach the kids all about how wonderful our oceans are.

The center has interpretive displays, fun open touch pools where you can actually FEEL what some of the creatures are like, and a HUGE 750,000 gallon Open Center exhibit that gives you a 240 degree see through tunnel so you can actually feel like you are UNDER the water.

Feeling brave? How about coming face to face with some sharks, and stingrays!? Head to the Shark Dive Maui at the Maui Ocean Center that allows those who are certified divers to actually descend into the tank and swim with these beautiful creatures.

Now THAT is an unforgettable experience!

The center also has activities and events that you might not want to miss, such as Turtle-rrific Thursday, and Fins and Flippers Tour!

Animal fun all around in an amazing underwater world...where you don't have to get wet!
