Art is such a wonderful medium to explore for kids because it's a way they can get inspired, be creative, learn, discuss, and admire - and the Lux Center for the Arts is ALL about art!
Those imaginative kids will love walking around all of the exhibitions and galleries that this art museum has on display. Local, regional and national artists are all represented across a number of genres (because art isn't just paint!)
Kids can explore collections featuring sculpture, paint, drawing, jewelry, glass and even fibers. There are two galleries which feature rotating exhibits, so there will always be something new to explore when you go back.
Each exhibit covers a particular theme, so keep an eye out on what's is coming up so you don't miss your favorite medium or artist!
If kids have been inspired by the work that they have seen, there are classes available for kids and adults through the various mediums, including pottery, glass, painting, and printmaking. The classes are split up for ages 5 to 9, then 10 to 13 so you can make sure they are participating in ones suitable just for them.
The Lux Center for the Arts also have family workshops, where you can create art together! Make sure you pre-register, and then just enjoy creating something as a family, from glass fusion to getting messy in the mud club!
So discover your inner self, let kids get inspired and get creative at this great Nebraska art experience!
You never know - you might discover the inner Picasso in you!
