About this activity

Set on 1790 acres, if you want a great family day out in nature, Lums Pond State Park might be for you! This Delaware state park is where you can have that classic family park style fun, there those active kids can use up all that energy, and parents can enjoy that Delware sun!

Lumps Pond State Park is actually built around the largest freshwater pond in the entire state - pretty cool, huh?! The pond itself is actually a whopping 200 acres, and even though swimming isn't permitted, you can head out on the water on a boat, all available to rent at your convenience in the summer months!

Throughout the park you can enjoy excellent fishing (and some great bonding between parents and kids!), as well as hiking trails for those who love to just immerse themselves in nature. There are even sports facilities for those kids who really love to move and a playground for them too.

Don't miss the Go Ape! TreeTop Adventure Course which sits right within the park, where rope ladders and treetop crossings are waiting to challenge you!

Lums Pond State Park also has a fascinating history too, so for those kids who love to learn stories of what happened all around them, it's a great place to do so. From the days of the site being home to several Native American hunting camps, to being used to power a mill, it's a fascinating part of the state!

Grab those sense of adventures, kids, because it's time to explore Lums Pond State Park!
