Some great formations in the caverns here. We didn’t take a tour, and it took about 45 minutes to go through. There are larger caverns in West Virginia, but most don’t have formations this nice. I also thought the prices in their gift shop were very reasonable compared to other tourist destination gift shops.

Worth a stop off the highway at $12 per adult (8/2013) the half mile loop is a bit slippery, so bring your grippy sneakers. If you have a keen eye, there’s plenty to appriciate. However, there are only 14 or so points of interest on the self guided tour.

This place was amazing! We were moving across the country from Colorado and decided to stop for a break and it was WELL worth it! The kids (5 and 3) had a blast running through the cave and exploring all the paths. The caves were huge! I loved the self-guided tour as it let us go at our own pace and take as many pictures as we wanted. The gift shop was also great and I ended up spending more than I usually would at a place like this because the items were NOT overpriced like they usually are at places like this. The dogs that are around the area are also fun and were very friendly to my kids and I. Awesome Experience!!!

They have something for everyone; however we chose the wild cave adventure. We had two tour guides – Steve and Will – both were fantastic. They took us to all of the fun parts of the cave, we got dirty, and we had an absolute blast. They were very friendly, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable. They also had all of the equipment necessary to ensure we were safe – including helmets, head lamps, knee pads, and even some old clothes and shoes if you forgot yours at home. The dinner afterwards was delicious! As if I didn’t have enough fun, they had a “welcoming party” of 5 dogs, that were the friendliest and most well behaved dogs! Also, the store is very reasonably priced. Highly recommend the Lost World Caverns!

AMAZING experience. The guides were fun and the wild cave tour was exciting for novice cavers without being too challenging. Would absolutely recommend for anyone in the area – and even worth going out of your way for!
