ON Opening day my boyfriend and I went after reading on the lake compounce website that the last showing was at 11 and we could by tickets at the door. We also called the guest relations desk where you buy the tickets and were reassured that the information on the site was correct and it was. When we showed up at 10:30 at night after driving from MA for and hour and a half the parking attendants at the gate said that they were closed at 10. We went to find out what was going on at the guest relations desk and as we approached there was a group of five people waiting for an explanation with the same problem. We were then forced to wait for a manager and after almost an hour of waiting we were treated extremely poorly and offered nothing in return for our wasted time and inconvenience. We then contacted the supervisor in charge all weekend leaving message after message with no reply. We were told there was nothing they could do to make it up to us even though they were the ones who never posted the correct information online. What they do not realize is not only are they not making a sale or giving us and the others who also showed up an awful experience, they are taking money out of the hands of the foundation that the haunted graveyard donates there proceeds to. I would never go back to this place as long as lake compounce is hosting this event!

We almost got spit on from someone on the top of the light tower slide. Guess there timing was off. Can you imagine, someone’s bodily fluid, spit at that, falling in your face or in your hair. Then, instead of a staff member telling my son and I that they were closing at the ‘croc pot’, this young boy decided that he was going to sweep the dirt onto our feet instead. HOW DISRESPECTFUL. I was speechless.I try to remind myself not to think too much of myself, but I was with my son. MY SON. The message could not have been any clearer. I hope none of my sons would ever do something like that. They would certainly bring shame to me and themselves. Yet, I will not cast a stone. No one is perfect. Unfortunately, between the spitting and the sweeping, the impression I got from Lake Compounce, not very welcoming. I can take a hint. Two insults in one day is more than enough. Disney, here we come!! Again.

Lake Compounce is one of the best places I’ve ever been to!! The roller coasters are thrilling to be on, and the rides are just simply fun! My favorite roller coaster so far is the “Zoomerang!”, and my favorite ride is the Bumper Cars. Their live shows are entertaining and fun to watch, and the employees are nice. The water parks there are also fun with their water cannons and are just awesome. The food in Lake Compounce is Delicious and awesome!!! And their free soft drinks just tops it off! This summer my family will be heading there, and it will definitely be worth the 2 hour drive to Bristol! I simply can’t wait for the day!
