Very nice and clean common areas, the rooms are ok and could use a bit of an update.
The bathrooms have no vent so it's always wet and muggy, and there is also no complementary free breakfast. Room service came knocking on my door at 8 AM in the morning which is very unusual and really was uncalled for.

    Small gym inside hotel.

We came for the weekend to relax and the one thing you want to do outside in the heat is to be in the pool. The pool was disgusting. It was blue water but I jumped in the pool and felt my arms they were slimey as if I had put lotion on. I didn't think about it until it was time to dry off. After I dried myself, I looked at the towel and saw why I was slimey. The towel was covered in algae from drying myself off!! I will never stay here again! I can't believe this came from the standards of the Hilton.

The first room smelled of must and smoke. They quickly changed our room to another area and that room was good.

The hotel looks dated compared to more modern ones. Overall, the hotel is acceptable.

We had just finished a stay at the Hilton Homewood Suites in Carlsbad and had an amazing stay, so I thought the Hilton Garden Inn would be a sure bet (comfy beds, nice service, comfortable rooms). But I was wrong. First the room smelled like smoke. Second for some reason the room was extremely humid, which is odd for being in the desert. And finally, the beds weren't the super comfortable Hilton quality we were expecting. In fact the entire room felt kind of old and dated. The only positive was the free breakfast (a special promo) - it was...Read More

FIRST TWO DAYS WERE VERY NICE AND BEDS JUST RIGHT. WE DECIDED TO STAY EXTRA DAY AND HAD MY ADULT DAUGHTER PAY CASH FOR EXTRA DAY. WENT OUT TO EAT AFTER SWIM IN POOL AND WHEN WE GOT BACK OUR DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN IT WAS LOCKED. I AM A HEART PATIENT AND I HAD TO GET MY MEDICINE. MY DAUGHTER WENT TO DESK TO SEE WHAT HAPPEN. THEY DID NOT KNOW WE PAID FOR EXTRA DAY SO WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF THE ROOM WITH MY MEDICINE INSIDE. CLERK WAS NASTY AND SAID THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. NO APOLIGE JUST USE NEW KEYS. I AM GOING TO CONTACT MANAGER TODAY WE LEFT DID...Read More

I thought I could book Hilton and get a winner without having to go scour the reviews, but looks like that is not the case.
