Where are we going today?

Here's a quick quiz - what is the LARGEST amusement and waterpark in the Midwest? If you guessed Kings Island, you'd be right!

This thrilling and exciting Ohio theme park is HUGE, and filled with so many things for you to do, no matter what age! Toddlers, grandparents...let's all go!

Shall we start with the thrill rides? You know you want to know! Let's start with just the names....The Beast, Firehawk, Banshee, Drop Tower, Invertigo, Delirium, Vortex....sound scary already?

How about if we told you one of those rockets you through 3,800 feet of track at over 55mph, or that another one takes you over three inversions forward...and then backwards?

Then there's the one that is over 5,200 feet of dowward drops, twists and turns through 10 acres at up to 80mph, with a SPLASHDOWN at the end! From inverted coasters to the WORLD's longest steel inverted roller coaster, there is certainly a need for your brave hat at Kings Island!

But don't worry, if thrills aren't quite your thing, there are plenty of family rides just for you.  You can take a plash on the Congo Falls into rapids, or whirl around on a family favorite through the air. The Viking Fury is a great adventure in a swinging ship, and the carousel is that classic family favorite that always charms those little ones!

Planet Snoopy is a great place for those smaller adventurers, with a theme park just for them and all their favorite Peanuts characters. They can spend the day on pint sizes casters, flumes, cars and trains.

With Dinosaurs Alive and live entertainment to top off your experience, Kings Island really has everything you could need! (Did we mention the world's longest steel inverted coaster...oh we did?)

Enjoy!

I love Kings Island! The park is only a few months older than me and I have had the pleasure of attending for many years. If you live near the park I recommend a Gold Pass and they have payment plans available. The gold pass makes your dollars go much further in the park. Discounts on merchandise, events, food, and drinks. Free parking with a gold pass too! Start buying your gold for next year as soon as they are available. There is a limited time that Kings Island offers gold passes. New coming 2015 is a seasonal food pass!

I wanted this to be a special weekend for someone who doesn't have much. I purchased the entry ticket on-line and upgraded to include a fast pass. I read the descriptions and what I thought I purchased was the opportunity to advance one time on each attraction. It was not made clear that this was for the haunted houses only. Also, it was not clear that it didn’t have any advantage until after 6 p.m. I was very disappointed to learn this. The sad part is that I wanted to check and confirm everything was good with the pass but since I did...Read More

I enjoy coming to kings island and it is a pretty wonderful park. Yeah it does have it's bad quirks but every park does. The food isn't that great and is a rip off but there picnic tables outside the park where you can eat at. You can also bring snacks into the water park. They also offer free tap water in every concession. Stand. The rides are pretty great and they don't break down to often. The worst thing at the park is that people smoke anywhere they want and the workers don't say anything.

New rides like The Banshee as well as some of the original classics from the time the park first opened. Live entertainment throughout the day at many locations in the park. Do not miss the Kings Island Theater this year with Cirque Imagine. It is an amazing show! People of all ages just love it.
Take the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad Train over to Soak City Waterpark for more fun. Soak City is a great place to cool off or grab a lawn chair and relax. Two large wave pools, many water slides, cabana rentals, and if you like to surf check out Pipeline Paradise. Soak City is just a nice short walk to and from the Kings Island main park if you decide not to take the train.
Dinosaurs Alive is fun for all ages and free for gold pass holders this year. A beautiful walk through a scenic forest with life size and life like animated dinosaurs. Along the path there is a special treat for young children that don't mind getting their little hands dirty. Dinosaurs Alive is educational and fun.
Feel free to check out my posts on g+. I recently have been sharing many of my photos and movie clips from Kings Island. Kings Island is a beautiful park and I encourage everyone to come check it out. There really is something for everyone here.

The sad part is that I wanted to check and confirm everything was good with the pass but since I did not purchase a ticket for me to enter the park, I was told at the entrance gate that I could not go to the fast pass office to get the pass or understand more about what I purchased.
I don't beleive in the fast pass upgrade pass to begin with. The $44 entry fee should be enough. By adding the lowest level fast pass, it makes the day more expensive than a day at a Disney Park and this is no where near the quality of a Disney park. I have been going to Kings Island for 40 years but this will be my last trip. I will try Holiday World next time. They currently have a 2 day pass for $29.00

For the most part it is a great park to have close by. But like someone said earlier you have to pre plan if you want to save money.
