Today was our first visit to Jump Up. We are from out of state but have spent many days in gymnastics gyms since my son was on a competitive mens team. We were extremely disappointed in this establishment. The first thing my son said to me was “why are there more than one kid on the trampoline at a time? I can’t use the tumble track because the kids are using it as a race course running up and down.” And the final kicker “where are the coaches”. There are so many safety concerns. Below I have listed a few. 1. Absolutely no supervision from coaches2. If there are gym rules no one follows the rules and no employees enforces the rules. Its fend for yourself3. Foam pit is well below a safety level. I asked if they normally had more bricks and was told no. I believe it was over 2 feet lower than what a true USAG gym requires.4. Foam pit was overfilled with children. Kids are in the pit with others jumping onto of them and to my disgust parents swinging kids on a rope at full force just over the heads of the other children. And again, no staff there to enforce safety.5. Multiple kids jumping on the trampoline at a time. We have spent years training at one of the top gyms in the nation, which has produced multiple olympians, and the first thing that the kids are taught (at 1 year of age) is one kid on the tramp at a time. 6. Kids allowed to run UP the tumble track. Kids need to start at the end and take turns on the track, going to the other end. Hop off the track or walk on the SIDE back to the end to wait in line. Otherwise the kids will simply slam into each other. Imagine a child doing multiple back handsprings down the track and then a kid running towards him. Yep, two hurt kids… The gym needs rules and supervision.7. Tumble floor was extremely worn and appeared it had not been cleaned in ages.8. Bathrooms were so filthy I would have preferred my kids to go outside and use the sidewalk. But instead i held my 3 year old in a hover and prayed she didn’t touch ANYTHING. If the gym would designate some additional resources and hire staff and coaches to provide adequate supervision and enforce safety it would have a lot of potential. I am a big advocate in gymnastics. Each of my children started the sport at a very early age. Gymnastics is a sport that will help create incredible athletes due to strength, conditioning, and discipline that is acquired with each visit to the gym. I only hope the owners of the gym see its potential and decide to turn it around and offer a great service to the community.

This place is very dirty. The photos they posted above must be from years ago as it looks far from that. The bathroom is truck stop/gas station dirty, the gym floor looks like it is never vacuumed. The employees just sit in the office and are never attentive to what is going on in the gym. There were mats missing from the edge of the trampolines so someone could fall through the springs, the end of the running tramps were exposed with sharp metal. The foam pit was about 2 feet below the level it should be, the wall mats are ripped and hanging. They have rules for safety but they do not have anyone enforcing them so teenagers were jumping in the foam pit on top of small children. I have been here several times and the filth and negligence always remains. I only go for birthday parties now because of the limited number of kids, however I make sure my kids use the restroom before we go and they must shower when they get home because it is so dirty and clearly never cleaned. There are ripped mats and missing mats. When I asked about supervision the lady in the office just shrugged her shoulders and said no. They must have REALLY great insurance as their staff was so negligent that we didn’t even sign any waivers. A friend was there once when a kid split his head open and the paramedics were called. The staff didn’t even come on to the floor then and clear it of the kids while the paramedics were working on the child. Appalling, disgusting, and negligent.
