Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM) is a place full of secrets waiting to be unearthed. Whether you come to hike our miles of trails, explore our Visitor Center full of interactive exhibits, or to enjoy one of our educational programs or events, you will leave with a greater appreciation for the land and the people who once lived here.

JPPM is also the home of the Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory (MAC Lab), which houses over 8 million artifacts. The MAC Lab serves as a clearinghouse for archaeological collections recovered from land-based and underwater projects conducted by State and Federal agencies throughout Maryland. All of these collections are available for research, education, and exhibit purposes to students, scholars, museum

From Washington Beltway: (approx. 1 hour)
Take Route 4 (Exit 11) south towards Upper Marlboro, keep going south to Prince Frederick. Go through Prince Frederick, continue on Route 4 for 3 miles, turn right on Route 264 (Broomes Island Road). Then follow Route 264 for two miles, then turn left on Route 265 (Mackall Road) and follow for six miles. Turn right into Park entrance. Follow driveway into Park, Visitor Center will be on your left. Parking is on your right directly across from the Visitor Center.

We offer many educational programs as well as travelling trunks that are available to any Maryland school.

Handicap parking available.

Bathrooms in visitor center and pavilion. Portable toilets on trails.
