Where are we going today?

The thing we LOVE about ice skating, is not just all the fun you can have with the family, but the fact you can enjoy it ALL year round - because it's indoors and it doesn't matter what the weather is!

Ice World is a popular ice skating and hockey facility that offers public skating sessions that the whole family can enjoy together! It's a fun way to stay active, have a great time, and learn a new skill (or get better at the skill you already have!)

Never been ice-skating before? Don't you worry about that! Ice World are ready and waiting for you with their lessons! They have group skating lessons, as well as family skating lessons so even learning about ice skating can be a family experience!

What else can you do on ice? If you're thinking hockey, then you're right! Good thing Ice World has that too! There are hockey skating lessons that you can take part in, as well as Stick n Puck sessions.

In fact - they have a whole RANGE of sessions! From freestyle sessions, to mini camps, and yes parents - even over 40 hockey just for you!

Don't think that ice skating is for the older kids either. Ice World have "totsicle" classes perfect for those kids aged 2 to 5. If you can walk - you can skate!

Think skating would be fun with friends? Then check out the birthday parties that you can have at the rink! Get all your friends together to celebrate that big day - ICE style!

Get those skates on kids, and don't forget to have a great time!

Very Disappointing...Being a world class skater myself, I returned to skate on the ice that I helped build. The building and ice was run down. The boards on both rinks are do not line up and do not close, there are dangerous gaps in the boards also. The teenagers running the rink are rude and uneducated. The amount of skaters on the advanced skating sessions was embarrassing. Obviously there is little interest in growing ice sports in Boise any longer.

Its awesome, first of all its the only public ice rink in Boise so for those haters out there driving business away with negative reviews its only killing business. No business means no revenue which means no ice rink in boise. I'm forever grateful that we have this awesome place to skate and play hockey. I also play downtown where the steeleheads play and i'm a much bigger fan of Ice world. The ice is harder and faster and the lighting is better. Yes, its run by the city but all the folks are very nice and do their best. Some of their rules...Read More

My 6 year old daughter has been wanting to ice skate for quite awhile now so when I saw that Ice World had such a great deal on Wednesday nights our family of 5 went to have a night out at the ice rink. My daughter loved it as she was so happy to get to practice skating since she hasn't skated since she was 4, but there were many issues throughout the 2 hours we were there.

The facility is amazing but it's run poorly. It used to be the only place to skate. As soon as there was another option, I went somewhere else.

Also I would like to add that if you take your skates to get sharpened in the pro shop, you are slowly destroying them.

I recently got a pair sharpened (because it came free with a purchase. If it was free all the time, I still wouldn't use this service any more. The hollow of the blade resembled a worn down bread knife. The first time I stepped to the ice, the blades stuck too it.

Some of their rules are weird and dont make sense but thats always the case when you have city workers governing a public resource.

My 6 year old daughter has been wanting to ice skate for quite awhile now so when I saw that Ice World had such a great deal on Wednesday nights our family of 5 went to have a night out at the ice rink. There are many different skill levels out there on the ice rink. There are the expert skaters who are courteous and watch out for others. There are beginners who seem to stay on the outside of the rink close to the wall which is also great, BUT then there are the good, non-courteous skaters who act like they own the entire rink! There were kids, mostly teenage boys and boys in hockey outfits, skating every which way on the rink...going the opposite direction, going across the rink, running into skaters and knocking them down, chasing each other and not caring who got in their way. I saw them knock down adults, I saw them knock down a little girl, and then they tried to skate between my daughter and I when we were holding hands! I told the boy who ran into us to start skating in the right direction and to follow the rules and he acted like he didn't even know what I was talking about so I am guessing that this type of "skating" is normal there. We asked the staff if we could get an EZ Skater since our daughter is just learning to skate but we were told that they were all out of them even though we could see some behind the counter. The majority of kids who had them out on the rink didn't even need them. They were using them to slide at each other to try to knock each other down, to sit on and give their friends rides, and to just be crazy with. My daughter really actually NEEDED one to help her skate. My 7 year old son was with us as well but after one lap without being able to use an EZ skater to help him plus with crazy, out of control kids skating all over the place he gave up and went to the game room. He has no interest in ever going back to skate again which is a huge bummer. My advice, and I'm sure MANY others would agree; there either needs to be a couple of Ice World employees out on the ice keeping the out of control skaters under control and making sure they are not endangering others or Ice World needs to keep the experienced and non experienced skaters on separate rinks to keep ice skating enjoyable and safe for everybody.
